Linda Barrett

One bright fall day in 1980 a male Golden Retriever puppy with the unlikely name of Taffy dropped into the Barrett family. After a week Linda looked at him and said “Son, we’ve got to go to school if this household is to survive.” At the school, Linda saw a woman working advanced obedience exercises. She was blown away and instantly knew that she wanted her dog to do that and more. That was the beginning. In obedience competition all of Linda’s dogs have had titles from CD to UD, according to their abilities. All of these dogs, some 6 or 7 of them over the years, were also great family dogs. Obedience competition has led to Agility, Tracking, new goals and adventures.

Linda’s current companions are MACH 2 Scully, TD, UD, XF and the Preacher AX, AXJ , a three-year-old work in progress. When she is not out with the dogs she can be found at work at Bank of America, fencing Epee, gardening and working with flowers, or more importantly, with her children and granddaughters and their cute golden pup, Spice.
